August 1, 2005 - Windjammer Barefoot Cruises Upgrades Web Capabilities

MIAMI BEACH - In implementing a recent shift in Windjammer Barefoot Cruises online marketing strategy, Miami-based e-business firm Plexus M/2 has redesigned and reengineered the cruise company's primary Web site with more dynamic and interactive features. Included is a more prudent use of "Flash" technology to enable Windjammer's staff to use self-administration tools for timely content updates. This information typically includes sailing dates, itineraries, theme cruises, rates, special offers, and hotel listings. For the future, Plexus has also engineered the foundation of a database-driven guided search feature and trip planner that suggests the best trips available, based on a person's individual lifestyle preferences.

eReach, the permission-based e-marketing software developed by Plexus, has also been integrated into Windjammer's CyberSailor program. eReach automatically adds new registrations to the customer database, and deletes so-called "un-subscribes" from the files. eReach's data-capturing capabilities also enable deeper profiling of a customer's demography and lifestyle tendencies. The CyberSailor Club is an opt-in marketing database developed by Plexus that automatically discounts available cabins and notifies all CyberSailor members 10-days prior to sailing. The CyberSailor database quickly grew to 40,000-plus members and Windjammer now runs at 100% capacity.

"Windjammer's adventuresome world is visually stunning," said Hugh Moore, senior vice president of Plexus. "Our creative challenge was to design an intuitive interface imbued with the exotic images and vibrant hues of the Caribbean. Visitors to the site will thus experience something special," he added.

The new site can be visited at www.windjammer.com.

The two companies have worked together since the early days of the Internet when Plexus developed Windjammer's early Web sites. Windjammer's communication costs were reduced dramatically when Plexus engineered a program for customers to request cruise reservations online. Later, Plexus developed an online program to facilitate brochure request fulfillment. The cruise company's multiple Web sites are hosted within the Plexus server network.
