| October 6, 2003 - Brickell Key Master Association Launches Web Site |
 |
MIAMI, FLORIDA -The Brickell Key Master Association (BKMA) interactive Web site was launched this week, according to Hugh Moore, senior vice president of Plexus M/2, developers of the site. The Web site serves the upscale high-rise owner-residents of Brickell Key, a showcase island located in Biscayne Bay at the mouth of the Miami River. It is connected by bridge directly to the Brickell Avenue financial corridor of Miami's central business district. The new Web site is located at www.bkma.info.
The Plexus-built application's primarily function is to facilitate communication between the Brickell Key Master Association and the tenants of the various residential condominiums located on the Key. An overview of Association Member Services is posted on the site, as well as a listing for the Association's management team, its staff, important phone numbers, and e-mail addresses.
"User-features enable residents to request dues statements, estoppel letters, park reservations, and guest passes via the Web using e-mail," Mr. Moore also stated. "Association members can submit their own announcements to the site. A newsletter and a community bulletin board are also planned as regular features," he added.
The public-focus of the BKMA's new site features the residential lifestyle and neighborhood amenities of Brickell Key. Web site visitors can experience these by taking a virtual tour of the island and its many properties. Representative photographs of these properties are displayed throughout the site. Area maps include both the Key and Brickell Area transit routes. Links to Web sites relative to the island are included.
About the Brickell Key Master Association
The BKMA was created in 1980 to perform all those property management services on the island not handled by the individual properties. The BKMA provides maintenance and safety patrols of the bay walkway and linear park surrounding the island, the island roadways, the seawall and all common area landscaping. In addition, the BKMA is charged with the creation and upkeep of the special projects and island amenities, which presently include the entry information center (including the smart-pass system), the Village Green, the children's playground, the tennis courts and the decorative components of the Brickell Key bridge. Special projects, which may change over time at the direction of the BKMA Board of Directors, include the new Web site, recent installation of front gate video cameras, and the annual Brickell Key Day street-fair.
Operations of the Brickell Key Master Association are jointly funded by the individual properties on a pro rata basis and overseen by a Board of Directors comprised of each property's representative. The Island's master developer, Swire Properties, also participates on the Board of Directors and has a controlling vote until such time as island development is complete. An annual budget and audit process, overseen by the Board of Directors, helps to ensure the individual member properties that BKMA dues are well-spent and properly accounted.
